Hey you guys! You can do this!
Ok, so this picture might be a stretch, but how adorable is he? It reminds me of Smokey the Bear when I was little saying "only you can prevent forest fires!" Does anyone else remember that?? Anyone? Anyone?
Back to topic……
This year, we will be memorizing Ephesians 6 within our Classical Conversations Community. At home, there are a number of ways to learn and review this passage:
MUSIC:
There are a few different options for Ephesians 6 set to music this year. Each version is very unique in sound, so find something that is catchy and memorable for your family!
1. One option is to use a series of three songs created by CC. Just go to CC Connected, then to the "At Home Sharing Center", and search for Cycle 2 resources by "fmoderator" (Foundations Moderator). This is afree resource for CC Connected subscribers.
2. Lisa McCann uses two songs to cover the passage, both of which can be downloaded for free on her site. Just go to this page, and scroll down. On your left, you will find a link to the Ephesians music. Do not click the link, but right-click and select "Save Linked File As" or something of that nature, and save it to your computer!
3. MegaVerse Ministries creates various scripture set to music. They have also created their own version of Ephesians by song, including their own hand motions. You can view the YouTube video online for free HERE, or visit their site to learn more and to check out their other scripture memory resources.
HAND MOTIONS:
1. I found this free video done by a CC Mom a few years ago that has Ephesians with hand motions. This would pair nicely with one of the song options above.

2. Here is a CC mom who was interested in teaching her children the correct sign language for Ephesians. There are a series of You Tube videos for each verse. The first one looks like this:

COPYWORK:
1. The My Memory Work Lapbooks include simple copywork for Ephesians 6 in both NIV and KJV versions.
2. We will be using these Copywork Pages for Ephesians 6
DRAWING / COLORING / PROJECTS:
Here are a few resources that cover the Armor of God portion of Ephesians:
1. Not-to-be-missed! This artwork for GIRLS and for BOYS from this homeschool mom is beautiful and fun! I know my kids will enjoy this unusual print on one of their homeschool days!
2. HERE'S a fun paper-doll type project for a boy or girl to place the armor on the image.
3. My bloggy-friend Amanda over at Oh Amanda did a whole unit on the Armor of God where they made all of the armor out of balloons. Too cute! We don't normally do a lot of this stuff, but with three boys in the house, this definitely will make it into our homeschool year! (BTW-I love, love, love Amanda's Christmas Craft e-book for kids that counts down advent called Truth In the Tinsel – fun! Check it out!)
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
For any overachievers out there, a couple of years ago I was blessed to have found this guitar music by Greg Schultz that set the ENTIRE BOOK of Ephesians to music! Yay! This is completely doable! Just play the songs in the background while you clean, work, play, drive, etc. You would be surprised how fast you memorize them! Go for it! Or, visit my website HERE to download more scripture memory songs for free!
These aren't the only resources out there of course. We are so blessed to be homeschooling at a time when there are so many resources available to us! Whatever you use, spending time memorizing God's word never returns void.
May the Lord bless your homeschool year,
Karen
